Course: MA (Sociology)
|Objective||M.A. Sociology or Master of Arts in Sociology is a postgraduate programme. The course aims to offer the opportunity to do comprehensive and systematic study of the subject at an advanced level. It includes all areas of modern sociology in order to outspread and deepen knowledge of the discipline among the interested learners. It is the perfect course to cultivate logical and experimental skills of the learners, to train them in methods of analysis and interpretation of sociology, to make them learn the skills for independent thinking, accomplished research and social utility, and, thus, to make them fit for the world of employment.|
|Course Duration||2 Years|
|Passed graduation (Sociology as one subject) from any recognized university with minimum 50% marks. In case of candidates belonging to SC/ ST must have obtained 45% instead 50%.|
|Admission Process||Admission is made only in 1st year and is made once in a year.
The candidate, who fulfills the eligibility criteria, shall get registered.
The candidate is required to appear in the written test on the notified date.
The merit list shall be prepared on the basis of test and the admission list will be notified thereafter.
|How to Apply||The candidate seeking admission shall contact the admission cell and get registered with the university on the prescribed form.
All the registered candidates shall appear in the written admission test on the date assigned and collect information for the admission test.
The candidate, as per admission list, shall report for admission.
|Medium of Instruction||The medium of instruction and examination is English|
|Fee||The candidate shall be required to deposit the fee as per the following details–
Admission Fee: Rs. 2,000/-
Development Fee: Rs.3,000/-
Annual Tuition Fee: Rs. 30,000/-
Enrolment, Examination and other fee shall be extra as notified.
|Hostel||Hostel charges (annual) shall be applicable as per the category of the hostel opted. However, cooperative mess charges shall be payable as per the provision of the mess.|
